VEGETABLE SHARE Check back daily for an updated list - it will change during the week!

Cilantro - 1 bunch
Cherry Tomatoes - 1 pint
Red /Plum Tomatoes - 4 pounds!
Colored Bell or Long Pepper
Salad Mix* - 1/2 lb.
Garlic - 1-2 pieces
Shallots - 1/2 lb bag - Tuesday only
Green Peppers - Wednesday & Thursday only

*We found a few little green worms in the salad mix, which is very unusual.  They can be easily removed when washed in a bowl of cold water, but we wanted you to keep an eye out for them.

FRUIT SHARE from Briermere Farm

If you have any questions about the fruit, please contact Briermere Farm directly at briermere@aol.com

FRUIT SHARE for Long Island  - Wednesday
1 bag mixed Peaches & Gala Apples

FRUIT SHARE for Queens
1 bag mixed Peaches & Gala Apples

FRUIT STORAGE INFORMATION
Leave peaches at room temperature, or put them in a paper bag.  This does help - the ethylene gas given off by the ripening fruit is trapped in the bag and speeds up the process. Apples can go directly in the fridge, or sit on the counter for a couple days.

Notes on the Box...

FARM MATH
Another tomato-filled box! While the boxes might not *look* super full these weeks, they are worth a lot! Let's do some quick math so you can see for yourself...

Cilantro ($2) + Cherry Tomatoes ($4) + Red Tomatoes (4lb @ $2.75 = $11) + Colored Peppers ($5.50) + Salad Mix ($4.50) + Garlic ($2) + Shallots ($3) = $32

With a share priced at $550 for 26 weeks, you pay a little over $21 a week. So this week you're getting about $11 bonus!  :)  Now that's something to smile about!

These are the prices we charge at our farmers markets - which is still below what you would even pay at a supermarket like Whole Foods.

CSA Harvest Festival

We've set a date for our annual CSA Harvest Festival for Sunday, October 17thRain date will be the following Sunday. This year's activities will include hay rides, live music and entertainment, cooking demos, a local artisan market and more!
