CSA - 2015 Season Sign Up
The application form link below is for Long Island Members ONLY. If you would like to join the program through our Queens groups, please contact the core group directly. Thank you!
CAREFULLY READ OUR 2015 CSA POLICIES
CSA is a Partnership between the Members and the Farmers
At the core of CSA is the idea that members support their farmer by sharing in the inherent risks of agriculture (poor weather, drought, disease, early frost, crop failure and so on) and rewards (the bounty from a good season!). Therefore while farmers Matt and James will act in good faith to provide fresh organic produce for the 26-week season, there is no guarantee of quantities or contents of weekly shares.
- STAY INFORMED! The single most important responsibility of all members is to educate yourself about the workings of our CSA program by thoroughly reading through the website and reading the weekly CSA Newsletter posted every week on our website. The newsletter contains important information about what's in the box, news from the farm and details about the harvest. www.goldenearthworm.com/newsletter.htm
- PICK UP YOUR SHARE! As a CSA member, you must pick up your share at your chosen pick-up site during the pick-up window. Pick-up at our Long Island sites are at private residences and are on the honor system. If you will be away or otherwise unable to pick up your share, you must make arrangements for someone else to pick it up for you. Any shares not claimed within the pick-up window on the day of delivery will be donated. Member shares that are not picked up will not be refunded or made up.
- BE AN ACTIVE PARTICIPANT IN THE PROGRAM! We encourage all of our members to become active participants in the CSA Program. You can do this by staying up-to-date with the news from the farm (by reading the weekly newsletters) and keeping in touch with the farm. Communication is critical! Please e-mail us often with your comments, suggestions and concerns. This is one of the great perks of CSA- you can actually talk to the farmer who grew your food! We also invite you to come visit the farm to see just where your food comes from. Plus, we have Strawberry Picking Days in June and a Harvest Festival in October.
We have a two-part application process:
Step 1: Complete the ONLINE APPLICATION (for Long Island Locations only)
Step 2: Once your online application is completed, you will be prompted to download a contract which you must complete and submit with your payment.
YOUR PLACE IN THE PROGRAM IS NOT SECURED UNTIL WE RECEIVE YOUR PAYMENT AND SIGNED CONTRACT IN THE MAIL.
