OPEN POSITIONS — CSA Delivery Driver - PT/Seasonal
FILLED POSITIONS — Organic Farmer - FT/Extended Seasonal
CSA DELIVERY DRIVER
Part-Time: 26+ hours/week
Join our farm team! We're looking for a super-reliable, friendly and detail-oriented driver to make deliveries to our CSA pick-up sites across Long Island and Queens. This job requires a high level of physical fitness. CSA boxes are unloaded off the trucks by hand at each site.
The ideal candidate will represent the farm well, communicating with our customers in a friendly and professional manner, while adhering to our tight delivery schedule. Must be physically fit and able to repeatedly lift and carry up to 50lb boxes of produce. Our box trucks are easy to drive with a little practice. No special license required, but candidates must be comfortable driving, especially in traffic and in Queens.
This position involves lots of details and the candidate must be capable of counting/doing basic math on the fly and being aware of and keeping track of details. Must be capable of communicating clearly both verbally and via e-mail/text with other members of the Golden Earthworm Farm team.
PART-TIME HOURS: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, approximately 7:30/8:00am to 5:00/6:00pm (Hours may vary slightly depending on season and traffic.). Approximately 26 hours weekly.
SEASONAL: June through the end of November.
Compensation: $20 per hour.

ORGANIC FARMER - FILLED
Full-Time: 40+ hours/week
Seasonal: March-November, plus additional work in the "off-season".
Career: This position offers opportunities for advancement and growth for the right individual. A multi-year commitment is preferred.
We are looking for individuals with production farm experience and proficiency operating a mix of farm machinery. Work with the management team to implement the farm’s production plans in the field, from field preparation and seeding to cultivation and harvesting. Aside from field tractor work, round out time helping with harvests, leading field crews, and assisting with the general process of the farm.
You are a key member of the production team and will be doing all sorts of farm related tasks. You work closely with the owner/farmer on field production, irrigation, repair projects, greenhouse care, weeding and much more!
Background and Skills:
• Practical experience and knowledge of vegetable growing systems and understanding of the field production process for organic crops will be helpful to understand detailed farm plans and practices.
• Experience working with a team and managing a group successfully.
• Ability to jump in to help in other areas of an organic vegetable farm as needed.
• Mechanical experience a plus.
• Must be extremely responsible, self-motivated and capable of handling complex instructions.
• Must have a clean driver’s license and be capable of handling physically demanding work.
• The farm is a smoke-free, drug-free environment.
Compensation: This position offers opportunities for advancement and growth for the right individual. Competitive pay based on experience. Employees who return for multiple seasons will receive an annual performance-based raise.
