TERMS OF AGREEMENT - 2017 CSA
I commit to membership in the Golden Earthworm Organic Farm Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program for the 2017 harvest season for 25 weeks.
As a member of the CSA, I will receive a weekly share of produce for 25 weeks. The shares will vary by size and weight depending on the time of the season. One aspect of CSA is that members support their farmer by sharing in the inherent risks of agriculture (poor weather, drought, disease, early frost, crop failure and so on) and rewards (the bounty from a good season.) CSA farmers purposely plan for such contingencies, and use growing techniques that protect the harvest, minimize risk to members and optimize the rewards: growing a wide variety of crops that thrive in different types of conditions, cover cropping, crop rotation, and irrigation. Moreover, the CSA builds relationships of trust between the farmer and community group. On the whole, members will get a wide variety of vegetables in plentiful amounts. Therefore I agree that while Golden Earthworm Organic Farm will act in good faith to provide fresh organic produce for the duration of the season, there is no guarantee of quantities or contents of weekly shares.
As a CSA member, I agree to pick up my share at my chosen pick-up site during the pick-up window. If I will be away or otherwise unable to pick up my share, I will make arrangements for someone else to pick it up for me. Any shares not claimed on the day of delivery during the pick-up window will be donated. Member shares that are not picked up will not be refunded or made up. I will be responsible for reading the CSA Newsletter every week AND will be responsible for receiving important news and information about my weekly CSA share through the newsletter and via e-mail. The newsletter is available online at www.goldenearthworm.com and will be e-mailed to members every week. I agree to be an active participant in the CSA program, and to contact my farmer if I have any questions or concerns. The farm reserves the right to cancel a membership at any time for any reason. In such a case, the member will receive a pro-rated refund for the remaining weeks of unclaimed produce.
Payments, Refunds & Cancellations
Requests for refunds by a member prior to the first day of the CSA harvest season will be issued a full refund less a $15.00 administrative processing fee. Cancellation by the farm during this period will dictate a full refund to the member for the share price paid. From the first day of the CSA harvest season through the last day of the harvest season, requests for refunds by a member will be issued a pro-rated refund for the remaining weeks of unclaimed produce less a $15.00 administrative processing fee. Cancellation by the farm during this period will dictate a pro-rated refund to the member for the remaining weeks of unclaimed produce. A $30.00 fee will apply to all returned checks.
